This morning, the cheque with the funds raised at the Dock BBQ Party, held on 17 October at Village 70 in Club de Mar-Mallorca, was presented to the charity Yachting Gives Back.
The total amount raised at the event was €4,692, thanks to the collaboration of sponsors Nautaes and Air Tek Group. This amount has been donated in full to Yachting Gives Back, an organisation that channels aid from the nautical sector into the fight against poverty and hunger in Mallorca.
The presentation ceremony took place at the new Club de Mar-Mallorca facilities, with the participation of José Luis Arrom, general manager of Club de Mar-Mallorca; Amador Núñez Martínez, CEO of Nautaes; Jim Hance, crew member of the yacht Paraiso and co-organiser of the event; and Nick Entwisle, founder of Yachting Gives Back.
‘Yachting Gives Back collaborates with different organisations and the money raised will go to various charitable projects on the island,’ explained Entwisle. For his part, Arrom stated that ‘Club de Mar-Mallorca is proud to host events that reflect the values of solidarity and community in the nautical sector’.
The Dock BBQ Party was a charity event that brought together crews, companies and professionals from the nautical sector in a relaxed and participatory atmosphere, with live music, a barbecue and strong involvement from the entire community.
