The 2026 Balearic Islands Championship for the Snipe and OK Dinghy classes will be held from May 15 to 17 in the waters of Palma Bay, organized by Club de Mar-Mallorca on behalf of the Balearic Sailing Federation (FBV).

The competition will bring together 30 sailors from different parts of the archipelago. In the Snipe class, around ten boats are expected to participate from Mallorca (Real Club Náutico de Palma), Menorca (Club Marítimo de Mahón), and Ibiza. Meanwhile, the OK Dinghy class will also feature nearly fifteen participants, all representing the Real Club Náutico de Palma. Registration is still open.

Participant registration will take place on Friday, May 15, both in person and online. The races will be held on May 16 and 17, with a maximum of four races per day, weather permitting. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, at 5:30 p.m.

The championship will take place at the new Club de Mar-Mallorca facilities, which feature a space entirely dedicated to sports and reinforce the organization’s commitment to promoting sailing and hosting high-level competitions.

“Club de Mar-Mallorca is embarking on a new phase, vigorously reviving the activities of its sailing division and bringing back some of its most iconic competitions, while also adding new major events to the sporting calendar.” notes Manuel Nadal de Uhler, commodore of the Club de Mar-Mallorca.

In this regard, this sporting event marks the start of an ambitious schedule of regattas and sailing events planned for 2026, reinforcing the club’s commitment to sporting excellence, the organization of premier competitions, and the promotion of sailing in the Balearic Islands.
