Club de Mar-Mallorca will organise the next Flying Fifteen International European Championship

The competition, which will bring together around fifty participating boats, will take place from 6 to 11 October 2026.

Club de Mar-Mallorca will host the next European Championship in the Flying Fifteen International category, which will take place from 6 to 11 October 2026. The event is expected to bring together around fifty boats with crews from different countries across the continent.

World Sailing and the Flying Fifteen International Class Association have confirmed Mallorca’s bid to host next year’s European Championship in this category.

The commodore of the Club de Mar Mallorca, Manuel Nadal de Uhler, has expressed the club’s satisfaction at hosting this event, noting that it is the first time the club has organised a European Championship. ‘We are strengthening our activity in the sailing section and this international competition will be a great boost,’ he said.

The Flying Fifteen International European Championship is held every two years and Mallorca will take over from the French town of Morgat, where Britons Ian Pinnell and Ian Cadwallader were crowned champions.

The Flying Fifteen International is a two-person keelboat, designed by Uffa Fox and launched in 1949, which became popular for being a fun and competitive boat. In its 76-year history, this classic has been able to remain relevant through modernisations to its moulds and the incorporation of modern materials such as carbon.

Mallorca has a large fleet of Flying Fifteen International boats and crews based at the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença, and they will undoubtedly be attending the event to be held at Club de Mar-Mallorca in October 2026.
