Club de Mar-Mallorca held its CLUMA Canoeing Trophy this weekend, an event that brought together nearly 80 paddlers from nine clubs across the Balearic Islands and will once again be a regular feature on the club’s annual competition calendar.
The regatta, now in its sixth year, featured participants in the cadet, junior, U-23, senior, and veteran categories, who completed an 8.5-kilometer course between Marineland Beach and the West Breakwater. The race began at 12:30 p.m. on a day marked by high temperatures and strong winds, conditions that added to the challenge of a race that proceeded without incident.
The competition brought together athletes from across the archipelago on Saturday, May 30, and once again established Club de Mar-Mallorca as the hub of Balearic canoeing.
The awards ceremony took place at the end of the regatta at the club’s new facilities, which mark the beginning of a new era full of possibilities: more space, greater comfort, and improved amenities for athletes and their families. In the club standings, Club de Mar-Mallorca claimed first place, successfully concluding a day that marks the return of this trophy to the organization’s sporting calendar.
With the revival of the CLUMA Canoeing Trophy, Club de Mar-Mallorca reaffirms its commitment to promoting water sports.
