Club de Mar-Mallorca, 25 years with the Ecomar Foundation

Club de Mar-Mallorca attended the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Ecomar Foundation, held last Thursday at the Ortega-Marañón Foundation in Madrid. Representing the Palma-based nautical entity was Commodore Manuel Nadal de Uhler, a long-time friend of the foundation’s promoter and double Olympic medallist, Theresa Zabell.

Club de Mar-Mallorca and the Ecomar Foundation have been collaborating for years on various projects aimed at preserving marine fauna and flora and promoting nautical sports. The club considers the foundation’s work crucial, making collaboration with it a key part of their current and future plans.

Over the past 25 years, the Ecomar Foundation has tirelessly worked towards marine conservation through various projects initiated since the foundation began its journey.

During the event, Zabell also announced the launch of the largest Posidonia restoration project in the Mediterranean, with one of Spain’s leading experts on this species, the scientist Carlos Duarte, in an advisory role.

The event was full of very moving moments, such as the screening of a video in which public and private sector figures personally congratulated Zabell for her dedication, among them Manuel Nadal, who highlighted the incredible work the Olympic medallist has done over the years leading the foundation.
