The president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, received today in audience at the Consolat de Mar the president and general director of the Club de Mar Mallorca, Borja de la Rosa and José Luis Arrom. The Conseller del Mar, Juan Manuel Lafuente, also attended the meeting.
The representatives of the Club de Mar explained to the President the currently ongoing refurbishment project of the Club de Mar’s facilities, which represents the largest private investment at present in port works in Spain, with a budget of more than 60 million euros. The new Club de Mar will become a new landmark for Palma’s seafront when the refurbishment work is completed.
The president and the general director of the entity also highlighted the Club de Mar’s efforts to preserve the maritime heritage through the organisation of one of the most important regattas on the classic sailing circuit in the Mediterranean: the Illes Balears Clàssics, which this year celebrated its 28th edition.
