Club de Mar joins the fight to reduce carbon emissions

It has already registered its carbon footprint for the last two years in the state registry.

Club de Mar has received the certification that certifies having registered the compilation of the calculation of the carbon footprint for the years 2019 and 2020 along with a plan of concrete actions with the aim of reducing emissions for the future.

The carbon footprint is a register that calculates the number of tonnes of CO2 emitted by a company each year and is mandatory for companies with more than 50 employees.

The register is divided into direct emissions and indirect emissions. Direct emissions are divided into 2 scopes. Scope 1 collects emissions associated with boiler or vehicle combustion and refrigerant gas emissions, while scope 2 collects emissions associated with electricity consumption.

Pending the new creation of the Balearic Carbon Footprint Register, the Club de Mar Mallorca has registered its footprint for the years 2019 and 2020 in the State Register. The aim of this environmental plan is to encourage the calculation and reduction of the carbon footprint of Spanish organizations, as well as to promote projects that improve Spain’s carbon sink capacity, a vital measure in the fight against climate change.

The registration is accompanied by a reduction plan, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint, i.e. the greenhouse gas emissions generated by its activity, over the coming years.
