Club de Mar delivers prizes to the winners in Bufete Frau Trophy
Gonçalves/Velard, in Dragon; Valentín/Vidal, in Snipe; and José Carlos Frau, in J80, winners of the seventh edition of the regatta, celebrated in Club de Mar.
Club de Mar-Mallorca organised this past weekend the VII Bufete Frau Trophy, held in the Bay of Palma with the participation of 22 boats. Carlos Manuel Gonçalves, in Dragon class, Luis Valentín and Cristian Vidal, in Snipe, and José Carlos Frau, in J80, won after two days of competition.

The fleet enjoyed two days of five sets for Snipe and J80, and three sets for the Dragon class. On Saturday the Bay of Palma had a 12-knot NW wind that permitted the racing of two regattas for all classes and on Sunday, with a 8-knot NW wind, the committee completed the rest of the races.

Absolute victory for José Carlos Frau, skipper of Bufete Frau and trophy sponsor, in J80 class, with eight other boats. Frau made it to the top of the rank thanks to the first four and a second registeres in the five races held during the weekend. The boat captained by Pablo Ariel, from Club Nautico San Isidro, came in second ahead of the team led by the local Helena Alegre.

Luis Valentin and Cristian Vidal won with their boat Oli Son Catiu in Snipe class but with a point tie between them and the second classified, the Baal Watches of Victor Pérez and Dries Crombé. The classification decided on Valentin and Vidal upon counting a third position as worse result than the forth of the competitors. The third place went for the Uship of Hugo Ramon and Natalia Diaz.
