Gala Dinner at Club de Mar in favor of Unicef
Club de Mar Mallorca's restaurant hosted last December 8th a gala dinner in favor of Unicef ​​attended by about fifty members of the sportive organization and in which the president of this UN program in the Balearic Islands, Mercedes del Pozo, reported the important work they do in favor of children in countries affected by war.
In her speech, Del Pozo compared the current situation in countries such as Syria or Yemen with the one at the end of World War II, which originated the creation of Unicef ​​to help the European children, and thanked the altruistic collaboration of Club de Mar Mallorca through the members dinner and the Christmas Festival, which is being held until the 11th, in the the marina facilities.

Borja de la Rosa, president of the Club de Mar, also addressed the atendees to remind that "we are a sports and social club, and among our commitments is to collaborate with entities that develop actions in favor of groups in need of the citizens' solidarity ".
"We all know," De la Rosa added, "the work that UNICEF is doing and the need for all of us who have had the luck and the privilege of living in developed countries to contribute in whatever way we can to help less and less children suffer devastating wars, lack of water and food, and natural disasters. "

During the course of the dinner, chef Tomeu Caldentey made a presentation of the menu and the plastic artist Sebastian Bispo painted a painting based on the model of the historic boat that is installed in the restaurant of the Club de Mar.
