Ocean Phoneix sails around Barbados
The maxi Ocean Phoenix, captained bby Juanlu Serra and based in Club de Mar Mallorca, is already in Carebbean waters where she will take part from today in the Barbados race, known as the Mount Gay Rum, with half a hundred participants. The Spanish boat has become one of the most common in the American winter.
The Mount Gay Rum has over 80 years of history and the Ocean Phoenix, with a 15-people crew, will seek the victory in this race, where one of the prizes will be the winning captain's weight in rum, which in Srra's case would be 87 kilos.

This Barbados race starts and finishes in Bridgetown and, since Barbados' Independence day is on January 21st, this regatta is one of the star events and one of the most spectacular with a great farewell and welcome to the participating boats.

The Ocean Phoenix has set her base between the Virgin Islands, Saint Meertėn, Antigua, Saint Lucia and Grenada, and once the regatta season is over she will travel to Florida (United States).
