In our 2011 Racing Programme, the XVII Regata Illes Balears Classic – for Classic and Vintage yachts– is one of the few Spanish regattas included in the International Championship of the Mediterranean. This regatta has become very popular and in 2010 it gathered 30 participants. It is part of the Classics Trophy Mare Nostrum, together with the Classic Yachts’ regattas in Barcelona and Mahón, sponsored by the Real Asociación Nacional de Cruceros (RANC). The J80 fleet is very active. The Club organises for this class several regattas (Trofeos Invierno (Winter Trophy), Primavera (Spring) and Mayo (May), Regata Mar Salada, etc.). The Around Mallorca Nonstop Race is undoubtedly the most technical and demanding coastal regatta organised in our island, and 2011 will be its seventh edition. The Club de Mar Trophy for Cruisers and Monotypes, will continue to have special recognition. The Club will organise once again the Trobada Club de Mar AND in association with the the Asociación de Navegantes de Baleares. Finally, the Club will organise two regattas for the Snipe fleet with the intention of contributing to recover this traditional sailing class.
